There’s no place like Waterstone’s, and Hampstead is my favourite location. The selection is eclectic, and I almost always end up buying something that I never knew I wanted. Amazon cannot do that for me. The café is very nice too. It’s almost like my second home.

cafe at Waterstones store Hampstead high street
dear all
today I made the mistake of attempting to visit your in-store cafe, only to find and experience the following that is was lacking advertised products, poor stock control, and prediction of customer demand … it is a dirty and untidy area, every free table which there were 5 or 6 had dirty and used cups, plates, forks etc and unwiped, floor unswept .. meanwhile the young person at the counter, was leaning on it reading … could not care less about clearing the tables and make sure the cafe was actually clean and tidy and presentable and in a respectable condition … companies like yours are often surprised when they fail or go broke, but when their staff have no work ethic or do not care about their jobs, which most likely means they think they are too good for it, have 0 manners, politeness or respect for others and the floor management are none existent or are just as bad, it shouldn’t be a surprise when you do fail, why they think not clearing and cleaning tables when people leave is acceptable only they will know .. it’s even more surprising given we spent 2 years with covid where hygiene was the word of the day.
it’s disgusting that anybody responsible for running a business thinks this is an acceptable way to treat your customers … it’s unlikely that you will pay attention to this email so therefore I will look forward to picking up many bargains in your bankruptcy sales …

A really nice Waterstones with a big selection of books in store, including a fantastic kids section, and a cafe upstairs.

Lovely place. Dark academia vibes and a large selection of books. Came to the café to study every weekend for my A-levels. Really nice atmosphere and baristas. Wifi is a bit poor.

Amongst London’s premier suburban leafy high-street bookstores with a well-established footprint and a dated spacious interior.
A wide selection encompasses the usual genres with an obvious concentration on current and popular titles but a credible presence/depth of back catalogue and more obscure titles though little digression nor wobbles in favour of the Small Presses.
Prices are industry standard with regular promotions, special offers.
The staff unobtrusive, well-rehearsed and helpful.

Typical Waterstones, in a good way. Excellent book selection and the study, academic section is very interesting and worth a browse.

The Waterstones cafe doesn’t have a stable Wi Fi connection and for the toilet I would rate 2 stars.

Can’t believe I walked into Waterstones and saw bookmarks for my book at the checkout! Thanks Waterstones! I love how you can go to even small towns and find them – keep going Waterstones!
