Worst Shake Down Ever!

Trouble from the start. They insisted we needed to pay an extra 30 pounds a day for full coverage on top of the extra insurance we’d bought on Expedia. They said we either had to get it or they would have to hold a deposit for the full value of the vehicle on a credit card. Whtf?!? Should have walked away (which is to say paid the $20 Uber back to public transport) right then. Never mentioned they weren’t at airport or offered pick up. $20 taxi ride or Uber over there. Suggested we video car for records, which my son did. Wanted to charge us over $500 for three millimeter sized marks on the windshield. Said glass and tires weren’t covered in the 3 extra forms of insurance we’d purchased. We refused to pay—we’d been trying to run off those marks since we got the car (which came with a nearly empty fuel tank and no wiper fluid, by the way). When my sixteen-year-old son who is on the autism spectrum realized what was happening, he said, “Oh my god. This is a f#&@$ing scam, isn’t it!” They threatened to call the police for his language. We’ve rented cars in countries all over the world and never had a problem. This is the first time we felt we were dealing with fraudsters. We’ve contacted are bank and they say it shouldn’t be hard to fight the charges if the company tries to charge our card. An hour and a half of our day in London wasted and such a bad start. This company sucks. Pay attention yo the bad reviews—they are real!
