- 🍺 The pub has an old-world charm and a quirky interior. Located in the center of quaint old Downe, the home of Charles Darwin.
- 🙌 Friendly and charming young bar team providing great service.
- 🍻 Pints of Harvey’s Bitter are expertly pulled, with exceptionally well-cellar beer as expected from Camra Pub of The Year 2014.
- 🥗 Pre-ordered lunches were a hit! Dishes were exceptional – fresh, varied, and home-cooked meats and veg at reasonable prices in today’s market. Surprising and delightful.
- 🅿️ Good parking available at the pub.
- 💰 Cheap ale on Tuesdays & Wednesdays (unfortunately went on Thursday 😂)
- 💯 Entered into their club Pub of The Year competition.
- 💼 Serves as both a nice country restaurant in addition to being a pub. Worth visiting for menu testing!
- 😋 Returning customer had an immense ham sandwich with excellent home-cured ham – you won’t leave hungry!
