A local hall for the community. I frequent on Thursday mornings for cooking classes for under 5 year olds. It is an amazing introduction to baking for the children. My grandson and daughter ages 4 and 2 love it. They are proud to show off their makes to their parents. All this for the princely sum of £3. Brilliant

What an incredible community asset in the heart of hampstead!!
From the various weekend markets, books, food and artisan, to the support groups and individual counselling to the children’s activities. It’s brilliant.
My children went to the under 5s drop in when they were little and the after school club and playschemes as they got older. They really enjoyed their time there and I have never felt anything other than welcomed and supported by the warm, enthusiastic and professional staff there.

The re-energized HCC market is excellent especially on Saturdays when the fishmonger (sushi quality salmon and tuna), great butcher (salt marsh lamb, game and other free range and organic meats) the Spanish deli and green grocer are joined by great sellers of French cheeses, superb breads and olives, hot foods and several others.

The community center for the hampstead neighbourhood. On Saturday there is usually a market at ground floor with a great selection of cheese and also fruit and vegetable. In the main room often there are second hand books on sale while at the upper floor there are rooms for community activities such as yoga classes, life drawing, aa and na meetings.

There’s a Spanish-ish lady who sells cheeses here of a weekend. She’s a good un’.
And a French-owned but British staffed cheese and honey stall. That’s ok too.
The rest are an odd mix of very intense jam, tapenade and biscuit vendors with varying degrees of neurosis and sandal-wearing disorders. Go see for yourself.
