I bought something from here and decided it didn’t look right on me so I went back to ask for a refund or an exchange and she said it’s not possible which I understand because each item has different owners and they get paid once it’s sold. But there really should be a sign saying no refunds or exchanges…very annoying because I’m a student with little money as well

One of my absolutely favourite shops. Always make a visit here when I’m in London. Dominique is fabulous, knows my name and what I like. Clothes are super, high end but not ridiculously expensive. I just hope the shop manages to survive the Lockdown and am itching to visit once again.

I have used Designs to sell clothes for more years than I care to remember. I have always received courteous, professional & friendly service from Dominique & her cheerful staff. I have tried other outlets but in the end Designs trumps them all. I know they will always do their best & I appreciate their honesty when an item really will not sell. Also like that I have the option to donate, there & then, any items which are not going to sell to a worthy charity.

I have been going to designs since I was a child. Dominique has strict work ethics for her reasons and that is why she has survived for all these years.
I have gone to many second hand shops over the years but not one compares to designs.
I have never seen a fake, grubby garment or the shop in a tip.
The shop is at a high standard with more than reasonable prices!

This is a lovely shop operated by one of the most knowledgeable staff that I have ever encountered at a purveyor of pre-loved luxury items. I so enjoyed my conversation with them regarding the history of different design houses, and where these houses are now under the current design teams. Be sure that you visit both the top and bottom floors. I found that the best items seem to be on the top floor, but the bottom floor is worth the trip, especially if you have any children in your life who you might like to gift some lovely designer pieces. Unfortunately, I didn’t walk away with anything during my first visit, but I did find a gorgeous Chanel jacket that was priced fantastically (it was just not in my size), and an MIH shearling jacket that I may have to go back for that was also priced reasonably, as well as a cute little Burberry coat in the children’s section that was an absolute steal. If you become a regular customer, I was informed that then they will offer to add you to their email list to be alerted when special pieces in your size come in–they do narrow it down to meet your specifications (size, designer, etc). Currently, I was told that the list is about 1000 persons long, and that pieces fly out the door, so it is best to visit often and not wait for the email notifications in any case.

Possibly my favourite shop. Large designer second hand store with two floors. Note that men are not permitted downstairs, so women can try on clothes in front of the large mirror. They do not sell men’s clothing. There is a good amount of natural light at the back of the store which is nice. There are two curtained changing rooms upstairs. The basement has shoes, boots and accessories, as well as dresses, jackets and coats. There is a rail of children’s clothing. Upstairs is the more high end stuff while downstairs is more casual items, and things that have been in the store for longer. Give yourself a good hour or two for your first visit, get to know this store. I just wish it would open on Sundays.

The owner is incredibly rude and standoffish. I have been a loyal, patient seller through designs but feel disappointed and disrespected by my recent appointment where i dropped off items after having them approved *twice*, cleaned, pressed and nonetheless had one dismissed and all the four others taking grudgingly and with a sign and complaint. Snobbish and outdated. Will not waste my time there again.

Neither sellers nor buyers need this shop anymore.
For variety, options, better prices we went online and there is no way back. Rude owner- goodbye !
