About Canada Water Library
- 🏢 The building looks interesting from the outside, but inside it doesn’t function well as a library.
- 🤫 The quiet/study space is not actually quiet and should be separated from the general area, which can get quite loud.
- 👶 It seems more like a nursery for kids and teenagers rather than a traditional library.
- ⏳ Despite being new, the interior looks dated and there’s a limited selection of books, particularly non-fiction.
- 💰 Some feel that it’s not a good use of council tax money and is more of a vanity project.
- 💖 On the positive side, the facilities are beautiful and customer service is excellent.
- 🗣️ The reception team provides helpful assistance to first-time visitors and guides them to suitable study areas.
- 🎭 While some noise from children is expected in shared areas, it isn’t overwhelmingly disruptive or tragic.
- 📚 There’s appreciation for inclusive book groups/clubs that everyone can join at the library.
- 🙉 However, some find that multiple times per week the library becomes excessively noisy with children running around, singing songs loudly in groups, and parents chatting as though they’re on a playground.
