I Paid for parking (at a no ticket machine) and still got a penalty charge notice

I Paid for parking at Appleton Way Hornchurch (at a no ticket machine) and still got a penalty charge notice for £30. As no tickets are issued, I have no way to prove that I paid, I will be checking by credit card.
I also entered details for my brother car immediately after mine and he didn’t get a ticket. so it’s not as if I didn’t know how to use the machine.
Not a happy customer, I think we should be issued with a ticket.
