About Ranger’s House – The Wernher Collection
- 🏰 Ranger’s House was built in the 1720s and used by diplomats, while Julius Wernher, a businessman, acquired the house later on.
- 🎨 Inside the house is an impressive collection of artwork dating back to the 15th century, including paintings and jewelry. The Bergonzoni sculpture is particularly striking.
- 💫 The level of detail in the artwork from hundreds of years ago is remarkable considering they didn’t have modern technology like lasers.
- 📷 Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed to take pictures inside. However, they sell a book with images from the collection.
- ✨ The house has been part of English Heritage since 1986 and offers free entry for members.
- 💎 Owned by a German gold and diamond explorer, Ranger’s House features an extensive collection of jewelry, paintings, and various items.
- 🏡 Surprisingly, there is quite a lot to see despite it being a small house. It was also featured in Bridgerton as its front exterior.
- 🧸 There are child-friendly activities available such as puzzles and drawing options within the house.
- 🚗 Parking is generally free except for a few hours during weekdays.
