COMMERCIAL WASTE COLLECTIONS FOR HAMPSTEAD TOWN, NW3
Camden Council is working towards providing cleaner, safer and environmentally friendly streets for all those who live, work and visit the borough.
Local residents and the council are concerned with the problems of Commercial waste being left on the pavements in Hampstead Town at unspecified times. In order to rectify this problem, I will set out guidelines on when and where your waste should be presented ready for collection.
Camden Council introduced time banded collections on Monday, 17 October 2011.
Waste may only be put out for collection on the public highway within the following three time bands:
6.00am– 8.00am placed between 5.30am and 6.00am
6.00pm– 8.00pm placed between 5.30pm and 6.00pm
12.00am-2.00am placed between 11.30pm and 12.00am
You must place your waste out on the public highway no earlier than 30 minutes before the time of collection.
YOUR COMMERCIAL WASTE MUST BE PRESENTED FOR COLLECTION BETWEEN THE TIMES INDICATED ABOVE, OUTSIDE OF YOUR OWN BUSINESS, EITHER ON THE KERBSIDE OF THE PAVEMENT OR AGAINST YOUR PROPERTY AND MUST NOT CAUSE AN OBSTRUCTION TO PEDESTRIANS. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE WASTE BAGS OUTSIDE OTHER BUSINESS PREMISES.
Your waste must be presented in clearly identifiable bags or containers displaying the words ‘commercial’ or ‘trade waste’ and the name and telephone number of the registered waste carrier who collects your waste.
Monitoring Officers for the borough will carry out regular inspections during this collection time and if a person or business fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply with the requirements in this notice, they may receive a Fixed Penalty Notice of £80 or be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,000.
