Look carefully at the Camden Town Brewery logo and you’ll see a coloured horseshoe: it was in the basement of this field-to-fork gastropub that the business was born. Brews such as their Camden Ink stout and sparkling pale ale are, naturally, on tap here, but so too is a stellar range of other options, including Sierra Nevada, Little Creatures and Stiegl. Even rival London-born artisan brewer Kernel gets a nod. The estimable wine list starts at £4 for a glass of Kalius garnacha from Spain.
If you’re coming for the food, get here early or, better still, book. Sundays see customers queuing at the door before opening time. The lunch deal (dish of the day plus drink for £8) is a popular draw, as is the high-rise burger with a generous pail of chips.
