Pastry Essentials Cooking Class

Creating perfect pastries requires a keen understanding of not just ingredients, but also methods.

Once you’ve mastered a few essential pastry techniques, your baking possibilities are endless. This class will cover tarts, eclairs/profiteroles, pastry cream and give you a fundamental understanding of the following:

  • Shortcrust pastry: understanding the role butter plays, why less kneading is better
  • Choux pastry: how to create eclairs, profiteroles and savoury gougères
  • Pastry cream: emulsifying egg-based mixtures into stable creams

At the end of the class, you will take home a wonderful tart filled with vanilla creme patisserie and decorated with a variety of fruits & whipped cream/chocolate creme patisserie filled eclairs or profiteroles.
