• 🍟 The reviewer has been to Peri Peri Original many times since 2018 and used to find the food excellent, particularly the pitta meals and chips. The service was decent at that time, although they sometimes had to call ahead to avoid a long wait. Forgotten items were occasionally an issue but usually replaced.
• 🍟 However, the quality of service and food has slowly degraded since COVID and the reviewer can no longer recommend it. The chips are still good, but the chilli sauce provided with them is now watery, and the pitta bread isn’t as good either. Prices have increased.
• 🍟 There seems to be a shortage of staff now, with only one or two members at any given time. On one occasion, the shutters were half open and remained that way despite customers waiting for 20 minutes.
• 🍟 Concerns about cleanliness have also arisen – while tables and chairs are fine, counters, overhead menus, bins appear dirty and not properly cleaned. Additionally, there have been scattered papers on the counter along with a laptop left behind. The COVID screens are broken instead of being fully removed.
