The Coffee Cup
Bistro
or over 50 years this iconic coffee lounge has treated the Hampstead population to great coffee, tea and… raisin toast! During the past several years, since the Villa Bianca Group took control of the establishment, we have extended the menu to offer breakfast, lunch & dinner. Under the supervision of our executive chef, we created a great-tasting, freshly sourced, menu for all to enjoy. The Coffee Cup has once again taken its rightful place as one of Hampstead’s most popular spots. Welcoming in a new generation of customer, who will one day tell their kids of the times when they used to visit The Coffee Cup Hampstead. .
We have created a HVL Score to fairly rate places from 1 to 5. This score is based on factors such as location, available services and their cost, customer feedback.

Really amazing and filling lasagna! Very competitive prices, will come back as it’s on our favourite high street!

I stopped at the Coffe Cup for lunch. I had the veal milanese with the spaghetti tomato. The spaghetti sauce was absolutely excellent the way both my nonnas and mother made. The veal was good and the service fast and efficient.

We used to come here all the time especially before CoVID and it was always absolutely brilliant but I think it’s changed owners because whilst the staff were really friendly and attentivez sadly the food wasn’t great…..the smoked salmon sandwich was just served plain on its own dumped on a plate with no lemon, no garnish nothing and my friend’s eggs Benedict were plain and cold.
Also my friend wanted raisin toast but they didn’t have any in (mid morning on a weekday)
Not impressed

The food was just okay, however they did have a large range of options.
Staff were quite cold and were not very attentive or polite; maybe because it was busy. But it did affect my overall experience there.

Really poor quality breakfast. Daughter ordered minestrone soup which tasted stale. No pasta inside when we asked where pasta was was bought out a few pieces in a bowl. Total joke. Really lost its love and mojo compared to many years ago. Not run properly. Will not be returning.

10/10!! If you want real Italian food this is the place to go. Brilliant food & huge portions!! Seating is fairly limited as its quite small inside and expect to queue (totally worth it). We ordered the tricole salad & garlic bread for starters. Mains we had the lasagne and the aubergine arrabbiata penne pasta. You can mix & match which pasta you want and how spicy. Service is excellent! this is my go to place!!!

Abysmal experience and upsetting actually. Went in last week for a soup which took so long I had to get take away in end. This week gave a second try and took my son as we go to class nearby. We stood waiting unacknowledged for so long we found our own table in the end. Whereupon we were just told we were in the way and could I move my bag and could we sit somewhere else. My son was so hungry by this point he started trying to eat snack food I had in our bag. I told him not to. This seemed to be only reason someone finally came to see what we want. My son got really upset he couldn’t eat. I asked for what my son wanted but the man was so unpleasant to my son I decided to leave. It was -3 outside and they knew my son was hungry but they let us leave and were shirty. When outside I realised there were few places serving any hot food at all. Can’t believe – a more horrible experience would be hard to find.

Wow! We had the special. Pasta with cod, olives, capers and garlic oil. It was fantastic. Great atmosphere and pretty fair pricing. We will go again
